Intermediate Full-Stack Developer – Internal Systems & Automation

Our client, a fast-growing financial services business based in Bellville, is seeking an experienced Intermediate Full-Stack Developer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on developer who enjoys solving business problems, modernising systems, automating processes, and building scalable applications that make a real impact across the organisation.
Working closely with business stakeholders, you will be responsible for the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design through to development, deployment, support, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain internal web-based applications and business systems.
- Build scalable solutions to replace manual and spreadsheet-driven processes.
- Develop and maintain integrations with databases, APIs, and third-party platforms.
- Work across both front-end and back-end development.
- Modernise legacy systems and workflows built in Excel, VBA, and SQL.
- Engage directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Utilise AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and delivery.
- Ensure all applications are documented, version-controlled, secure, and supportable.
- Provide ongoing system support, troubleshooting, and enhancements.
- Collaborate with Credit, Finance, Operations, Risk, and Business Intelligence teams.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ software development experience.
- Strong full-stack development experience with the ability to build end-to-end applications independently.
- Experience with at least one modern back-end framework such as Python, Django, Flask, .NET, Node.js, or similar.
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, or equivalent.
- Strong SQL and relational database experience.
- Experience working with APIs, authentication, integrations, validation, and error handling.
- Solid Git/GitHub version control experience.
- Exposure to deployment, maintenance, and production support environments.
Advantageous Experience
- Financial Services, FinTech, Lending, Credit, Insurance, or Data-Driven environments.
- Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Excel, SharePoint, Power BI).
- Legacy system modernisation and workflow automation.
- AI-assisted development tools and technologies.
- Credit origination, collections, risk reporting, or portfolio analytics environments.
