Junior Bookkeeper | Manufacturing Sector | Durban KZN Hire Resolve is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Bookkeeper to join a dynamic finance team. This role goes beyond traditional data entry; you will act as a vital link between finance, production, and external regulatory bodies. The ideal candidate thrives on accuracy, enjoys investigating variances, and can confidently manage relationships with insurers and credit guarantors. Key Responsibilities: Accounts Receivable & Credit Control: Accurately allocate incoming payments, resolve debtor queries, and approve sales orders based on credit limits. Credit Insurance Liaison: Manage the relationship with the Credit Guarantee Insurance Corporation (CGIC), ensuring buyer coverage and processing claims when necessary. Production & Costing Support: Audit production jobs for accuracy before closure and investigate significant discrepancies between standard and actual costs. Compliance & External Reporting: Act as the primary point of contact for the IDC, providing progress reports and handling queries regarding funded projects. Customs & Trade Compliance: Maintain meticulous documentation for customs rebates to ensure adherence to international trade regulations. Office Coordination: Assist with annual insurance renewals and oversee site compliance tasks, such as scheduling mandatory maintenance testing. Requirements: Experience: 24 years in a bookkeeping or junior accounting role. Specific experience in a Manufacturing or Production environment is highly advantageous. Education: A Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping (e.g., ICB), or a related field. Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Syspro, Sage 200/Evolution, Xero, or SAP) and advanced MS Excel skills. Industry Knowledge: Understanding of VAT, Customs rebates, and basic credit insurance principles (CGIC). Attributes: Strong “follow-through” on compliance tasks and the ability to hold production teams accountable for job accuracy.
