About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to join our agricultural manufacturing team based in Blackheath or surrounding areas. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our plant, while also providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure work is conducted in a safe manner and according to instructions and regulations.
- Create and ensure high SHE awareness in the plant.
- Produce goods according to specifications to optimize production.
- Fill in log sheet reports and read daily instructions, then execute actions.
- Log all aspects of operation during shift change over.
- Be oriented about the status in the plant and report deviations to relevant personnel.
- Take actions to keep the plant in stable and safe operation.
- Supervise raw material intakes.
- Train operators to utilize their time efficiency.
- Ensure employee competence through training and job rotation.
- Ensure operators take responsibility for cleaning the plant and maintaining high standards of housekeeping.
- Minimize spill creation.
- Involve operators in all relevant aspects of operation.
- Manage time keeping, including overtime, and supervise subordinates.
- Seek new solutions to increase productivity.
- Conduct safety walks and talks rounds with Senior Warehouse Manager.
- Ensure warehouse is clean and dry.
- Prevent spillage on the road.
- Assist in other departments and areas as required by the business.
- Manage time and attendance.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- NQF level 4 qualification
- Relevant certificate in production
- Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office and Excel
