About the Role
African Mining and Crushing SA Ltd is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Bloemfontein. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our diesel engines and associated components. If you have a strong background in diesel mechanics and excellent problem-solving skills, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis inspections to determine cause of failure on components
- Execute various diagnostic tests and inspections to identify component and machine defects
- Correct vehicle defects by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing impaired parts according to OEM and company procedure
- Troubleshoot, identify and repair hydraulic and mechanical defects/breakdowns
- Conduct primary maintenance according to OEM and company procedures
- Ensure oil samples are filled in correctly and submitted to planning department after service has been completed
- Ensure the continuous upkeep of preventive maintenance schedules
- Adhere to PPE and occupational safety policies and procedures
- Collect work orders daily and complete job cards for every completed task
- Perform thorough oil sampling, ensuring samples are taken correctly, labelled, and submitted to the planning department for analysis
Requirements
- Red Seal Trade Qualification as Diesel Mechanic
- Min 3 years working experience as a qualified Diesel Mechanic
- Experience with general Diesel Mechanic work on trucks, LDVs and Yellow Equipment
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Clear criminal record
- Strong mechanical and technical skills
- Valid Drivers License (Code 10)
