About the Opportunity A well-established national road freight and logistics company is seeking an experienced and results-driven Branch Manager to lead and manage its Cape Town operations. This is a senior operational leadership role suited to a candidate with strong road freight experience, proven people-management capability, and a hands-on approach to operational excellence, compliance, and client service. Key Responsibilities 1. Operational Management Oversee day-to-day branch operations to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and on-time service delivery Plan, coordinate, and optimise the use of vehicles, staff, and operational resources Implement and enforce health, safety, and operational procedures to ensure compliance and minimise risk 2. Team Leadership & People Management Lead, motivate, train, and develop a high-performing branch team Create a positive, accountable, and performance-driven work culture Conduct performance reviews and manage discipline, coaching, and development 3. Client & Stakeholder Management Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and ensure high service levels Resolve client queries, escalations, and operational issues effectively Identify opportunities for operational improvement and business growth in collaboration with sales teams 4. Financial & Performance Management Manage and control branch budgets and operational costs Monitor branch performance against operational and financial targets Work closely with finance to ensure accurate billing, reporting, and cost control 5. Compliance, Risk & Quality Assurance Ensure compliance with company policies, transport regulations, and industry standards Implement and monitor quality control and operational audit processes Continuously assess and improve branch efficiency and service delivery Minimum Requirements Grade 12 / Matric (non-negotiable) Diploma or Degree in Business Management, Logistics, Transport, or related field (advantageous) Minimum 5 years’ experience in road freight / logistics , with at least 5 years in a management or leadership role Strong operational, people-management, and decision-making skills Solid understanding of transport legislation, fleet operations, and logistics best practices Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving abilities Proficient in Microsoft Office Remuneration & Benefits Market-related remuneration package Benefits may include: Medical Aid subsidy Provident Fund Death & Disability Cover How to Apply Applications must be submitted online.
