About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Maintenance Technician / Production Technician to support daily factory operations and machine performance in our Epping, Cape Town facility. As a hands-on technician, you will work closely with the production team to minimise downtime and contribute to the business by troubleshooting and resolving mechanical and electrical issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor production and packaging machinery while performing basic maintenance and repairs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime.
- Conduct changeovers between different products and assist with machine setup, start-up, and shutdown procedures.
- Carry out preventative maintenance as per the established schedule.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards of all machinery.
- Assist with piston filling machines, packaging machinery, and conveyors.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing/FMCG environment.
- Experience working with piston filling machines, packaging machinery, and conveyors.
- Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge.
- Ability to work shifts and overtime when required.
- Strong problem-solving and hands-on skills.
- Hands-on, practical, reliable, and punctual.
- Able to work under pressure with strong attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Trade qualification (Fitter / Millwright / Technician) is advantageous.
- Experience with preventative maintenance systems is beneficial.
- Basic PLC fault finding (not programming) is a plus.
- Exposure to piston pouch filling or liquid filling lines is preferred.
- Experience in beverage or food production is advantageous.
