About the Role
First Fit Shopfitters, a fast-growing company offering shopfitting services and quality products, is seeking a competent Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of our Projects and Costing Team, you will play a crucial role in managing costs relating to manufacturing projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects are completed within allocated budgets while maintaining required standards and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Management: Assist in the preparation and management of project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Measurement & Valuation: Take measurements and valuations of work done on-site and prepare bills of quantities.
- Contract Administration: Support in the administration of contracts, including reviewing and agreeing on variations and managing claims.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports, including cost tracking and analysis, and present these to senior management.
- Supplier Management: Assist in the procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating, and managing relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks in the project and contribute to the development of risk mitigation strategies.
- Cost Control: Monitor project expenditures and ensure costs are kept within the approved budget, highlighting any deviations or potential overspend.
- Compliance: Ensure that all work complies with statutory requirements and regulations.
- Support Senior Team Members: Provide general support to senior members and the wider project team, including attending meetings and preparing documentation.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft packages (eg. MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint) and quantity surveying software.
