About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Contract Administrator to join our team in Cape Town, with regular travel required to site facilities across various provinces. As a key member of our construction environment, you will be responsible for supporting the Head of Department and Project Managers with contract administration, while also providing commercial expertise on large engineering, infrastructure, or renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Head of Department and Project Managers with contract administration
- Preparing commercial information for contract variations and approval documents
- Coordinating contractor and consultant payment processes
- Assisting with tender and proposal documentation during construction
- Creating and maintaining commercial, contractual claim and risk registers
- Managing contract documentation and construction management repositories
- Assisting with contract compilation, including FIDIC and employer bespoke contracts
- Handling progress claims, variation claims and other contract-related matters
- Drafting contractual letters and maintaining accurate contract records
- Providing contract assurance and contract management support for the employer
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- Quantity Surveying qualification would be advantageous (not essential)
- 7 years’ experience on large multi-disciplinary engineering or construction projects
- Strong contractor and consultant claims experience
- Experience with progress claims, variation claims and commercial contract matters
- Understanding of EPCM project environments
- Strong procurement and project controls experience
- Heavy industrial, infrastructure or renewable energy project exposure would be advantageous (not essential)
- Valid South African Code 08 driver’s licence
