Senior Personal Tax Consultant Join a well-established UK accountancy and tax practice supporting a diverse portfolio of personal tax clients. Cape Town (Office-Based) | UK Working Hours (Monday to Friday) | R45,000 R60,000 per month About Our Client Our client is a respected UK-based accountancy and tax practice that provides specialist tax and advisory services to a broad range of individuals, partnerships, and trusts. They are known for delivering high-quality client service, maintaining strong professional standards, and building long-term client relationships. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced UK Personal Tax professional to join a collaborative team where technical expertise, client service, and attention to detail are highly valued. The Role: Senior Personal Tax Consultant The Senior Personal Tax Consultant will take ownership of a portfolio of UK personal tax clients, ensuring all compliance obligations are met accurately and on time. This role involves managing self-assessment tax returns, CGT reporting, HMRC correspondence, and client relationships while identifying tax planning opportunities and supporting broader advisory work. The successful candidate will be a trusted point of contact for clients, working closely with colleagues to deliver a high standard of service across all personal tax matters. Key Responsibilities Minimum 3 years’ experience in a UK Personal Tax role with strong self-assessment tax return preparation experience Prepare self-assessment tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and trusts Prepare Capital Gains Tax (CGT) returns relating to property disposals Ensure all filing deadlines and payment deadlines are met Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients and maintain regular communication Liaise directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries Build strong working relationships with clients and internal teams Monitor outstanding information and keep clients updated on progress Manage workflow effectively and prioritise tasks during busy periods Identify potential tax planning opportunities and escalate where appropriate Handle HMRC enquiries, notices, coding issues, and correspondence Assist with ad-hoc personal tax advisory matters when required About You 3 years’ experience within UK Personal Tax Compliance Strong knowledge of UK personal tax legislation and compliance requirements Proven experience preparing self-assessment tax returns Experience dealing directly with HMRC Experience preparing CGT returns Strong client relationship management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills High attention to detail and accuracy Strong organisational and time management skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively Proactive and solutions-focused approach Experience using CCH would be advantageous ATT qualification, CTA studies, or equivalent experience would be beneficial but not essential
