An Art Gallery based in Cape Town City Centre is seeking a highly experienced Senior Sales Executive to join our dynamic team. The position is full-time, necessitates daily office attendance, and is Cape Town-based. Job Type: 6-month contract with a 3-month probation period (with potential for a full-time position upon completion) Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 09:00 – 17:00, plus two Saturdays a month, 10:00 – 15:00 Overtime expected Start Date: Immediate The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for generating sales, meeting associated sales targets, and fostering new client relationships. The successful candidate will be required to assist with front-of-house responsibilities; event and project management; as well as artist management as required. Key Responsibilities: Generating art sales (primary and secondary works), meeting sales targets, and placing artworks in key collections Maximise and generate new sales opportunities – collaborations, new platforms and markets Customer relationship management and sales administration – ensure that every customer experience is consistent and excellent Generation of marketing material and ensuring that digital platforms and databases are updated and monitored Event and project management Assist with artist management as required Tertiary qualification in Fine Arts is essential. Minimun of 5 years full-time experience in a commercial gallery setting. Proven sales and project management track record. Able to engage with clients and artists alike easily, respectfully, and meaningfully. Passionate about contemporary art with a sound knowledge of the SA art world and the global art industry, including key players. Self-driven with a strong client and sales focus. Hard-working, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Should be professional, presentable, friendly, and polite, with strong written and verbal skills. Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to work in a structured manner. Driver’s licence, own vehicle and contactable references required.
