About the Role
Our Client in Observatory Cape Town is seeking a Financial Administrator to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 4 years of financial administration and bookkeeping experience, with expertise in Pastel and Payroll. This role involves both financial capturing and payroll processing, as well as general financial duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Senior Bookkeeper with financial capturing and monthly payroll processing in Pastel
- Perform general financial and finance duties as needed
- Prepare all invoices for payment on a weekly basis
- Correctly file all financial documents
- Capture all financial information to Pastel
- Complete all duties required to complete and update Pastel bookkeeping
- Finalize all duties on Pastel to ensure auditors can review year-end statements
- Collect employees’ daily shift records and capture them in the payroll system (Spread sheet & VIP Payroll)
- Record and keep track of employees’ sick leave and leave
- Capture employees’ deductions daily (Spread sheet & VIP Payroll)
- Manage petty cash, including capturing it on Pastel and safekeeping monies
- Issue petty cash in the correct format and balance monies
- Present weekly reports and payment schedules for fuel accounts (spreadsheet)
- Collect fuel slips daily and capture them on PASTEL & excel fuel consumption
- Vehicle Administration: present and prepare weekly reports and payment schedules for fuel accounts (spreadsheet)
Requirements
- 3-4 years experience in Bookkeeping
- Experienced working on PASTEL (Assist with payroll of 60)
- Payroll Experienced an added bonus
- Matric and a Relevant Financial Accounting Bookkeeping Diploma are an added advantage

- Formal education/certifications not required for this role.
