Johannesburg: Sales Analyst

Job Description

An established industrial and engineering organisation is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Sales Analyst to join its commercial team in Johannesburg. This role is responsible for the administration, maintenance and analysis of customer contracts, pricing structures, sales data and business intelligence reporting. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting sales management by providing accurate commercial analysis, maintaining pricing integrity, managing contract administration and delivering valuable business insights. This position is ideally suited to an analytical professional with strong commercial acumen, advanced Excel skills and experience working within a technical, engineering, manufacturing or industrial environment. Duties include Contract Administration & Pricing Management Prepare and maintain customer contract pricing, custom price lists and product catalogues. Review awarded contracts to ensure alignment with submitted commercial proposals. Conduct commercial, technical and financial reviews of customer contracts and tenders. Coordinate contract implementation and updates with internal stakeholders. Manage contract renewals and price escalation processes. Maintain accurate contract records and documentation in accordance with company procedures. Prepare and maintain custom pricing structures for technical product ranges. Support profitability through effective pricing governance and contract management. Sales Analysis & Reporting Generate standard and customised sales reports for management. Produce monthly, quarterly and annual sales performance reports. Analyse sales trends, customer performance and market opportunities. Assist with forecasting, budgeting and year-end sales projections. Perform rebate calculations, rebate forecasting and contract spend analysis. Develop sales support tools and analytical reports for management and sales teams. Conduct market research, competitor analysis and commercial performance evaluations. Pricing & Cost Structure Management Maintain and govern product cost structures and pricing databases. Conduct cost build-up analysis and margin reviews. Support strategic pricing initiatives and price adjustment processes. Ensure pricing accuracy and alignment with approved commercial guidelines. Maintain version control and audit trails for pricing updates. Monitor pricing competitiveness and profitability. Systems & Data Management Maintain CRM systems and sales pipeline reporting. Administer customer procurement portals and online platforms. Consolidate and analyse data from ERP, CRM and multiple business systems. Ensure data accuracy, consistency and reporting integrity. Support management with business intelligence and decision-making information. Minimum Requirements Matric with Mathematics and English. Diploma, BTech or Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Engineering or a related field. Electrical Engineering qualification advantageous. 3–5 years’ experience within Sales Support, Commercial Analysis, Contracts Administration, Pricing or Proposal Management. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience working with ERP systems. Strong analytical and reporting capabilities. Advantageous Experience Technical, electrical, engineering, manufacturing or industrial sector exposure. Syspro ERP experience. Qlik Sense experience. Contract pricing and tender administration. Sales forecasting and business intelligence reporting. Customer rebate calculations and commercial analysis.
