About the Role
Our client, a leading South African fashion retailer, is seeking a skilled General Ledger Accountant (Fixed Assets) to join their team. As a self-starter with excellent attention to detail, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities around the Group’s fixed assets. You will work in a fast-paced retail environment and are expected to meet monthly deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining the depreciation and tax asset registers for all countries
- Addition of new capex items to the asset registers
- Liaising with the company’s Contracts departments on all store capital expenditure spend
- Preparation of the monthly reconciliation of the asset registers to the general ledger (Both in the local currency and ZAR translated)
- Reporting on Capex spend per project
- Assist in the review of the useful life of assets
- Month end close processes
- Assist auditors in all assets related queries
Requirements
- BCom or equivalent
- Minimum of two/three years working experience. Preferably experience with Fixed Assets
- Experience with Oracle Fixed Assets and General Ledger modules (or a similar package) would be beneficial
