About the Role

Hire Resolve, a leading managed IT Support and Services provider, is seeking an experienced Level 2 Engineer to join our team in Cape Town. As a key member of our infrastructure management team, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and optimizing hybrid cloud environments (AWS/Azure) and virtualization stacks (VMware), while also driving strategic transitions to proactive Managed Intelligent Provider (MIP) frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and optimize hybrid cloud environments (AWS/Azure) and virtualization stacks (VMware)
  • Strategic Transitions: Lead the evolution of client environments from reactive MSP models to proactive MIP frameworks
  • Security & Compliance: Implement and audit frameworks including GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO 27001; manage risk assessments and NIST-aligned controls
  • AI Integration: Utilize TensorFlow/PyTorch and data analytics platforms to automate workflows and generate predictive maintenance insights
  • Threat Intelligence: Manage AI-driven security tools (SIEM/EDR) for advanced threat detection and incident response

Requirements

Strong experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing hybrid cloud environments

Deep proficiency in AWS, Azure, and VMware

Advanced knowledge of networking and virtualization technologies

Hands-on exposure to machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch

Experience using AI tools and data analytics platforms for automation and predictive insights

Solid understanding of GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, and ISO 27001

Expertise in cybersecurity frameworks, specifically NIST

Experience in risk assessment, formal audits, and control implementation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Certified: Enterprise Administrator)
  • Proven track record of experience in a Tier 2 or Senior Support role with a focus on project delivery
