About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Housekeeper to join our team at a luxury lodge in Hoedspruit, South Africa. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences while maintaining high standards of housekeeping and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the lodge
  • Lead and manage a team of housekeeping staff to ensure efficient service delivery
  • Implement innovative ideas to enhance guest satisfaction and loyalty
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve exceptional customer experiences
  • Manage budgets, stock control, and inventory to minimize waste and maximize efficiency
  • Work under pressure to meet deadlines and maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

  • Minimum 23 years Housekeeping Management experience in a 5-star lodge or boutique hospitality environment
  • Budgeting and stock control experience
  • Rooms Division or Front of House experience advantageous
  • Hospitality/service training experience advantageous

  • Live-in position with meals on duty

About the Role

The Executive Housekeeper is a senior leadership position responsible for managing and overseeing the entire housekeeping function, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, presentation, and guest satisfaction across all areas of the property.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily housekeeping and laundry operations
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks
  • Maintain cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation standards at all times
  • Recruit, train, and supervise housekeeping staff
  • Prepare staff schedules and duty rosters
  • Manage performance, discipline, and development of team members
  • Promote a positive and productive working environment
  • Manage linen, cleaning materials, and guest supplies
  • Monitor stock levels and place orders
  • Conduct regular stock takes and control wastage
  • Prepare and manage housekeeping budgets
  • Control departmental costs (labour, supplies, laundry)
