Job Description
My client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Accountant to join their finance team. This role is responsible for the accurate management of the company’s accounting and financial activities, providing reliable financial information that supports operational, budgeting, and strategic decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overall financial management and oversight of multiple projects
- Preparation and submission of monthly invoices, including supporting documentation
- Management of insurance claims across multiple projects
- Preparation of journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations
- Completion of bank reconciliations and cash book entries
- Assistance with monthly cost centre management accounts
- Analysis of financial performance against approved budgets
- Review and release of EFTs and other payments
- Assistance with daily and monthly cash flow management
- Preparation and support with statutory returns (e.g. VAT)
- Liaison with external auditors
- Assistance with annual BEE audits and completion of MIP schedules
- Support in the preparation of annual financial statements and budgets
- Performing additional financial duties as required by the Finance Manager and CFO
- Management of subordinate(s), where applicable
Job Experience and Skills Required:
BCom Accounting Degree
Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles
3 – 5 years’ post articles experience
Proficient in SAGE Evolution
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
