About the Role
A reputable civil engineering contractor is seeking a SACPCMP registered Construction Manager with extensive experience in pavement and road construction to manage road infrastructure projects from planning to completion, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage pavement construction projects including earthworks, layerworks, surfacing, and drainage
- Oversee construction teams, subcontractors, and site personnel
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental regulations
- Prepare and monitor construction programmes and schedules
- Manage plant, equipment, materials, and site resources
- Liaise with engineers, consultants, and clients
- Monitor project progress, cost control, and reporting
- Ensure adherence to contract specifications and standards
Requirements
- BSc / BEng / BTech / National Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Registered with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) as:
- Pr.CM – Professional Construction Manager, or
- Pr.CPM – Professional Construction Project Manager
- Minimum 5 years experience in civil construction
- Proven experience in road and pavement works (BSM, asphalt, reseals, slurry, etc.)
- Knowledge of GCC / FIDIC / NEC contracts
- Valid driver’s license
