Job Description

A well-established financial services business operating within the capital markets environment is seeking a Settlements Specialist to join their operations team. This role is well suited to someone who is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced trading environment, and has a solid understanding of securities settlements across local and global markets. What you will be doing: Confirming and allocating trades with counterparties and internal teams Ensuring timely and accurate settlement of trades in line with agreed guidelines Investigating and resolving trade breaks and settlement discrepancies Maintaining accurate settlement records and supporting documentation Monitoring settlement activity to identify risks and exceptions Assisting with process improvements and operational efficiencies Providing ad-hoc operational support where required What we are looking for: 3-5 years’ experience within securities settlements or a related operations role Strong understanding of settlements, trading processes, and financial markets Exposure tolocal and/or global securities markets Knowledge ofStrate, the JSE, and international settlement processes Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with internal and external stakeholders Proficiency in MS Exce l and the broader MS Office suite Tertiary qualification (relevant to finance, investments, or operations) Why consider this opportunity?
