About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Building Materials Buyer to join our team at IOEC in Durban. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for sourcing building materials both locally and internationally, while also driving growth within this department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procure and source building materials both locally and internationally.
  • Build strategic relationships with new and existing suppliers (locally and internationally).
  • Problem solving and claim resolution.
  • Negotiation of pricing and settlement discounts.
  • Identify product opportunities in new and existing markets.

Requirements

  • 5 years’ experience in the Building Material Procurement industry.
  • Understanding of pricing, claims, value chains and settlement discounts.
  • Good working knowledge of building materials.
  • An understanding of Exports and Logistics would be advantageous.

Qualifications

Must have formal education/certifications.
