Durban: Engineering Director posted by Communicate Finance

• Develop and implement strategies to accelerate project delivery and improve operational efficiency
• Set clear goals and align resources to meet tight deadlines and business objectives
• Manage facilities and key operational assets
• Lead project management and technical teams to execute large-scale, high-value projects quickly and effectively
• Oversee tender processes and ensure compliance with company standards
• Monitor project budgets – track forecast vs actual and identify improvement opportunities
• Liaise with clients and subcontractors to ensure scope clarity and timely progress updates
• Maintain compliance with SHEQ standards while meeting aggressive timelines

Skills & Experience

• 8–10 years’ senior experience in a large-scale mechanical contracting environment
• Proven success in delivering high-value projects within short timelines
• Strong commercial experience in tenders and contract negotiations
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and influencing skills
• Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple fast-moving projects
• Exceptional communication skills at an executive level
• Willingness to travel locally and internationally

Qualifications

• Degree/BTech in Mechanical engineering
• Professional Registration is advantageous
• Valid, unendorsed driver’s license
