Job Description

REQUIREMENTS Matric (Grade 12) essential Valid drivers license and reliable own transport Strong administrative skills with a good understanding of processes and procedures Demonstrated success in a sales role with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets Excellent communication skillsboth written and interpersonal Confident in closing sales and handling objections effectively Highly target-driven, with a solution-oriented mindset Self-motivated and accountable, with the ability to manage their own workload and client portfolio independently DUTIES Consistently meet and exceed sales targets by delivering exceptional customer service and proactive follow-up Collaborate with designers, architects, builders, contractors, and other stakeholders to understand and support project requirements Stay informed on the latest product innovations, industry trends, and market developments to provide expert advice to clients Respond promptly to inbound leads by setting up meetings and identifying customer needs Proactively engage with existing clients while sourcing and securing new business opportunities Handle incoming product and service queries with professionalism and product knowledge Maintain accurate and up-to-date client information and activities in the CRM system on a daily basis Grow the client base by generating leads, developing new business, and expanding existing accounts and networks Prepare quotes and proposals accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring they align with client requirements Conduct thorough after-sales follow-ups to ensure client satisfaction and identify opportunities for repeat business Leverage existing company clients to identify upselling or cross-selling opportunities Develop a deep understanding of the companys product and service offerings Provide consultative support to industry professionalsincluding architects, electricians, engineers, and project managersensuring appropriate solutions are offered Maintain strong market awareness, including competitor activities and emerging opportunities Communicate effectively with internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery and project execution. External Sales Consultant Join a leading supplier of access control and security sealing products to drive growth across Durban and its surroundings. Durban, Pinetown | R15 000 per month Commission Company Benefits About Our Client Our client is a trusted national supplier specializing in access control, identification, and security sealing products across multiple industries. With a strong technical product range and a reputation for reliability, they partner with clients in logistics, retail, utilities, and manufacturing. The company is committed to innovation, long-term relationships, and professional service excellence. The Role: External Sales Consultant This role is ideal for a proactive and results-driven sales professional who thrives in a client-facing environment. You’ll be responsible for expanding the customer base, managing relationships with key clients, and achieving consistent sales growth. The position combines new business development with account management to ensure both acquisition and retention success. Key Responsibilities Minimum 3 years of experience in external or field sales. Prepare accurate sales forecasts and achieve monthly targets with 95% accuracy. Generate and maintain a consistent pipeline of at least 10 new prospects per month. Conduct a minimum of 5 external client visits per month to secure new business. Visit the top 20 customers monthly and maintain weekly contact with the top 5. Re-engage at least 5 dormant or lapsed customers each month. Manage tenders and national deals, aiming for a 95% success rate. Maintain detailed reports on sales activity, pipeline development, and skills progress. About You Matric / Grade 12 qualification. Proven external sales track record with measurable results. Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle (fuel provided for business use). Experience using Pastel or similar systems is advantageous. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a consultative sales approach. Self-motivated, disciplined, and highly target-driven. Excellent organizational and follow-up abilities. Confident, adaptable, and proactive in identifying opportunities.
