About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Fleet Manager to join our team at Cre8work! in Durban, South Africa. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of our fleet, from acquisition to disposal, with a focus on optimizing efficiency, minimizing costs, and ensuring the smooth functioning of our diverse fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive fleet management strategies, including vehicle acquisition, maintenance, and disposal plans.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the fleet, ensuring vehicles are available, reliable, and in compliance with safety standards.
- Coordinate vehicle inspections, repairs, and maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize utilization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including drivers, mechanics, and administrators, to optimize fleet performance and resolve operational issues.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate fleet performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including vehicle registration, licensing, and insurance.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, negotiate contracts, and evaluate service quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement fuel management programs, monitor fuel consumption, and identify opportunities for fuel efficiency improvements.
- Develop and deliver training programs to promote safe driving practices, efficient vehicle utilization, and regulatory compliance.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in fleet management.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of fleet management principles, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in using fleet management software, GPS tracking systems, and other relevant tools.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Qualifications
Degree in a relevant field (e.g., logistics, supply chain management) or equivalent work experience.
