About the Role
Our client is a multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to provide support to the engineering team on various projects in Durban and around Southern Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading first principal designs in the mechanical design environment, with a focus on petrochemical and oil & gas projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to the design team
- Execute projects at various locations in Durban and around Southern Africa
- Develop and implement mechanical design solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver project outcomes
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years experience on petrochemical/oil & gas projects in an EPCM/Consulting engineering environment
- Excellent understanding of national and international petroleum/gas standard and regulations (NFPA, API, SANS, etc.)
- Proficient in AFT Fathom, AFT Impulse
- Working knowledge of Autocad to direct Drafting staff accordingly
Qualifications
BSc / BEng Mechanical or BTech ECSA Registration as a Professional Engineer is essential.
