About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our team at our offices in Jacobs, Durban. As the vital link between our Sales team and Production Coordinators, you will ensure timely and efficient delivery of products to our customers. Your primary function is to coordinate production in advance of audit and delivery milestones, utilizing your analytical skills to read and understand Product Purchase Orders (PPOs) and schedule them on the production line for correct Due Dates and statuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture PPOs received from Sales team within 48hr timeframe
- Request PPOs for a certain time period to ensure equal distribution across divisions and customers
- Analyze PPOs, schedule on production line, and update Final Planned Status
- Assign online dates to PPOs for Cutting room and CMTs with Daily Production Plan (Mon-Fri)
- Ensure smooth production within assigned production lines, taking into account quantity/make-up of product and raw materials availability
- Track individual PPOs to ensure meeting desired milestones and provide feedback to relevant departments
- Utilize CMT production lines to maximize available production capacity
- Provide daily/weekly reports on production plans and PPO updates
Requirements
- Minimum 13 years of experience in garment/textile production planning role
- Strong understanding of production cycles, capacity planning, and line balancing
- High proficiency in planning systems and Microsoft Excel
- Experience with SYNC is advantageous
- Excellent coordination, multitasking, and time management skills
- Ability to analyze data and forecast realistic audit and delivery schedules
