About the Role
We are seeking an experienced hospitality professional to join our team as Assistant Hotel Manager at a prestigious luxury wine estate in Franschhoek. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for supporting the Hotel Manager in overseeing day-to-day hotel operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service, and driving excellence in guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Hotel Manager in overseeing day-to-day hotel operations
- Manage and coordinate all front-of-house departments, including reception, housekeeping, and guest services
- Supervise staff to ensure service excellence and guest satisfaction at all touchpoints
- Handle guest complaints and special requests with professionalism and efficiency
- Assist with financial administration including budgeting, stock control, and payroll processing
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance throughout the property
- Contribute to team training, development, and performance management
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and security regulations
- Assist in planning and coordinating hotel events, functions, and VIP experiences
Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within a luxury hospitality environment
- Hospitality management qualification preferred
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction
- Strong administrative, organizational, and time-management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and hotel property management systems
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Qualifications
- Hospitality management qualification (if applicable)
Salary & Benefits
Salary: R30,000 – R35,000 (Negotiable, Dependent on Experience). Live-Out Meal Allowance: R22.50 per shift (for salaries below R25,000).
