About the Role
Imizizi is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer (Senior) to join our team in Gauteng. As a key member of our IT operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and uptime of our Unix/Linux clients and servers. You will also be responsible for deploying, managing, and operating workloads on AWS and Azure, as well as implementing security controls and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Unix/Linux clients, servers, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely solutions.
- Apply system updates, patches, and security fixes as part of routine maintenance.
- Create and maintain system documentation, including procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
- Support compliance with security standards and company policies.
- Deploy, manage, and operate workloads on AWS and Azure, as well as implement security controls and compliance requirements.
- Track and update Jira user stories to ensure due dates are met.
- Assist in ensuring stability of systems and operations standards.
- Ensure quality and up-to-date content of the knowledge base for the sub-product.
- Manage Problem, Incident and Change process for dedicated ITSM service.
- Keep documentation up to date in all relevant systems (e.g. as is configuration CMDB/Application Instance Wizard, to be configured Connect IT, knowledge database resolveIT).
- Attend and moderate operation meetings.
Requirements
- Strong experience with coding and scripting (Bash, PowerShell etc)
- Strong experience with Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, SLES)
- Strong experience with Cloud Technologies (AWS, Azure)
- Strong knowledge with version control systems (GitHub)
- Experience with ServiceNow (advantageous)
- Experience with Dynatrace (advantageous)
- Experience with Red Hat Satellite (advantageous)
- Any Linux certification such as RHCSA (advantageous)
- Ansible certification – RHCE (ex294/ex407) (advantageous)
Qualifications
- Degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience
