Job Description
This is a dynamic role for a technical specialist who enjoys managing the full client journey, from the first telephonic contact and quoting to long-term portfolio management and renewals. You will work directly under the Operational Manager for the Insurance Broker division, ensuring the division remains compliant while delivering bespoke insurance structures that meet specific commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Action leads immediately, telephonically, to establish insurance requirements and secure appointments.
- Analyse commercial coverage needs and place risks within specific insurer mandates.
- Manage the full new business journey, including quoting and issuing new policies.
- Conduct monthly renewals, negotiate terms and present comparisons to clients.
- Execute daily endorsements, amendments and cancellations to maintain accurate policy records.
- Monitor loss ratios and implement corrective actions to ensure portfolio profitability.
- Ensure total compliance with the FAIS Code of Conduct and internal quality standards.
- Manage end-to-end client relationships to drive satisfaction and resolve queries efficiently.
- Utilise Microsoft Dynamics to track leads, update records and maintain data integrity.
- Provide support with claims registration and communication as required by the team.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial underwriting.
- Full RE5 and Class of Business accreditation.
- Completed short-term insurance qualification.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Microsoft Dynamics experience is a plus).
- Professional verbal and written communication skills and a brokerage background.
- Domestic or Agriculture experience is highly advantageous.

- Market related CTC based on experience including Group Life cover.
