Job Description
The Role:
This executive will be responsible for defining and executing a single, integrated sales and marketing strategy across domestic, African, and international markets. The role requires deep industry insight, advanced market trend analysis, and the ability to align multiple departments (sales, operations, production, logistics and finance) behind one commercial vision.
You will operate as the commercial authority on market positioning, pricing strategy, demand forecasting and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and lead the group-wide sales and commercial strategy, aligned to production capacity and profitability
- Conduct high-level market trend analysis within the glass and manufacturing sectors
- Drive strategic market positioning across local, African and international markets
- Translate market intelligence into actionable pricing, volume and product mix strategies
- Align sales, production, logistics and planning teams into a single executional roadmap
- Lead and influence senior leaders across multiple departments and regions
- Monitor competitor activity, import/export dynamics and global market shifts
- Deliver sustainable revenue growth while protecting margins and market share
- Represent the business at the executive, industry and international level
Non-Negotiable Requirements:
This role is not suited to developing leaders or step-ups.
- Proven C-suite / Executive leadership experience in glass or continuous manufacturing
- Deep, demonstrable knowledge of the glass manufacturing industry
- Strong exposure to African markets (SADC and broader Africa)
- Experience operating across international markets
- Highly advanced analytical, statistical and market modelling capability
- Track record of building and executing long-term strategic sales frameworks
- Ability to lead through influence across complex, multi-department environments
- Strong commercial judgement, pricing expertise and strategic foresight
- Recognised credibility within the industry
Ideal Background:
- Executive-level experience within glass, building materials or heavy manufacturing
- Strong understanding of production economics, supply & demand dynamics and export markets
- Extensive experience in B2B sales strategy within capital-intensive manufacturing environments
- Comfortable operating at the Board, Exco and Group level
