About the Role
We are seeking an experienced School Accountant / Bursar to join our team at She Recruit. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and detail-oriented professional to make a meaningful impact within a respected and growing education group.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage financial accounting processes across multiple entities within Group Shared Services.
- Prepare, analyse and review monthly management accounts, reports – ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Support the preparation and monitoring of annual operating and capital budgets.
- Track expenditure against budgets, conduct variance analysis and present actionable insights.
- Ensure billing accuracy for customers, suppliers and third-party stakeholders.
- Oversee procurement, accounts payable and reconciliation processes.
- Manage debtors and collections processes in accordance with company policy.
- Prepare and submit CAPEX applications and related reporting.
- Deliver timely month-end close and reporting activities in collaboration with campus and head office teams.
Requirements
- Recognised bookkeeping, finance diploma or accounting degree.
- 3–5 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally within a multi-entity or education environment.
- Strong technical accounting and bookkeeping knowledge.
- High attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to perform under intense pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Highly organised, task-driven, and process-oriented.
- Customer-centric approach with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and modern financial systems.
Qualifications
- A recognised bookkeeping, finance diploma or accounting degree.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field would be an asset.
