Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Sales Representative to drive sales by promoting and selling high-end, imported technical and industrial products to both end-users (e.g., farmers) and OEM clients. The role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent client-facing skills, and the ability to manage complex product categories in a consultative sales environment. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, including end-users (e.g., agriculture sector) and OEM clients. Promote and sell a product mix that includes approximately 20% Chesterton products and 80% other premium imported items. Understand client shutdown schedules and plan orders in advance to ensure timely delivery, considering import lead times. Consult clients on product selection and application, offering technical support and tailored solutions. Manage sales across 10 key product categories, including but not limited to: Oils, greases, cleaners, sprays Technical and mechanical products Industrial and high-performance coatings Chemicals, degreasers, water valves Mechanical seals and coating applications Agricultural solutions such as fruit netting, dam linings, and fencing Collaborate with Chesterton support personnel and attend client meetings jointly when needed. Complete mandatory Chesterton training and effectively utilize the provided tablet for sales and training purposes. Stay informed about water schemes and projects such as those in Lesotho, contributing to business development in emerging areas. Key Requirements: Proven experience in technical or industrial sales, preferably in sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, or engineering. Strong consultative selling and client relationship management skills. Ability to understand and explain complex products and technical specifications. Self-driven, organized, and capable of working independently in a remote sales role. Valid drivers license and willingness to travel. Strong planning and coordination skills, particularly around managing large orders and shutdown timelines. This role will offer a basic commission Company car and fuel – for work purposes only

About the Role

Our client in George is seeking a hands-on Sales Representative to grow business, service existing clients, and support deliveries and sales administration. The ideal candidate will be an energetic and practical individual who enjoys working with customers, is willing to get involved when needed, and maintains accurate administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Business development across the Garden Route and selected Eastern Cape routes

• Service and retain existing clients; resolve queries and upsell ranges

• Plan and execute route calls; assist with deliveries

• Prepare quotations, process orders, and complete sales/administration documentation

• Maintain accurate records and provide weekly feedback to management

Requirements

• Valid Code 10 driver’s license with valid PDP

About the Role

As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for driving business growth and maintaining our company’s brand reputation through exceptional customer service and sales performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct an average of ten client calls per day, ensuring that a weekly call report is completed and submitted to the Sales Manager.
  • Complete a client call planner and ensure it is repeated on a four-to-six-week cycle.
  • Monitor sales performance and gross profit activities.
  • Present and sell company products and services to existing and potential clients.
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals generated through field activities.
  • Provide product demonstrations to both new and existing clients.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within existing accounts (upselling).
  • Achieve agreed-upon sales targets.
  • Complete written service reports for clients where required, discuss them with relevant stakeholders, and submit copies to the Sales Manager.
  • Ensure that staff training is conducted for all clients, and that all related administrative tasks are completed (e.g. training registers, training certificates).
  • Build and maintain relationships with all key client stakeholders (e.g. Buyers, General Managers, Chefs, Contract or Area Managers).
  • Provide prompt and professional service and assistance at all times.
  • Assist with customer deliveries when required due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Advise customers on the most suitable products and their efficient use.
  • Manage account services through quality checks and ongoing follow-ups.
  • Perform technical installations, repairs and maintenance of equipment when required.
  • Apply the company’s consultative sales approach by using hands-on service to enhance overall customer value.
  • Provide after-hours emergency service to customers when required.
  • Strengthen customer relationships through innovative products, demonstrations, regular service and ongoing training.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of customer operations and develop tailored solutions as a specialist in advanced cleaning and sanitation processes.
