Are you an experienced underwriter with a flair for both personal lines and commercial lines short-term insurance? We are seeking a knowledgeable, detail-oriented Domestic & Commercial Underwriter to join our dynamic team. Minimum Requirements
- Tertiary or professional qualification in Personal Lines Short Term Insurance Underwriting
- Completed Matriculation
- RE 5 Certification
- Full FAIS Qualification with Class of Business in Personal Lines & Commercial Lines
- Current CPD Points
- At least 7 years experience in Personal Lines Insurance
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional service and process quotations for clients personal short-term insurance needs
- Maintain and service existing client portfolios
- Communicate with clients via telephonetaking instructions and confirming them in writing
- Use voice logging systems to clearly document client interactions
- Complete additions or deletions to existing policies promptly and accuratelyconfirming all changes in writing
- Update policy administration systems, generate schedules, debit/credit notes, and send out clear communications to clients
- Keep diary records of outstanding information and documentationfollow up regularly by phone, email, fax, or SMS
- Apply or remove policy discounts in line with required documentation
- Advise clients on suitable insurance coverage and keep comprehensive notes
- Handle renewals, new business, re-insurance, and credit control processes
- Investigate cancellation requests and offer retention solutions
- Proactively flag potential client issues and loss of income or service problems
- Maintain thorough documentation of all client advice and discussions
