About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to join our 5-star Game Lodge in Hoedspruit. As the face of our restaurant, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the restaurant, maintaining high standards of service and guest satisfaction.
- Manage and train waiter staff, fostering a positive and professional work environment.
- Handle and execute guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints with professionalism and tact.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create and update trends on menus and offerings.
- Oversee and drive wine list/service and training requirements with the team.
- Oversee and drive beverage/bar team and training requirements with team.
- Coordinate Guest Experience & Seating Coordination: manage reservations, special requests, and address guest inquiries or complaints.
- Supervise waitstaff, coordinate with the kitchen, set up the dining room, and oversee the flow of service.
- Manage floorplans, guest-waiter allocations, handle reservations, train staff, create staff rosters, and manage inventory and health & safety standards.
- Maintain the atmosphere of the dining room, including lighting, music volume, and overall cleanliness.
- Coordinate training of culture competence, Guest communication and engagement for staff to adapt with diverse service requirements.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Formal hospitality qualification
- At least 2 years’ experience in similar position
- Experience running a ’La Carte’ service for 165 pax including buffet & outdoor functions requirements and running of multiple venues
