<p><strong>Purpose of the Job: </strong></p><p>The construction manager shall demonstrate professional knowledge of mechanical, civil and electrical project construction management in the Process Plant Environment. Coordination and management all Project construction related activities in FEED and ensure construction standards are implemented with EPC contractors to ensure that construction projects are achieved safely, on time and budget and the required construction services are delivered to clients requirements.</p><p><strong>Major Task Headings:</strong></p><ul><li>Safety Management</li><li>Construction Management</li><li>Schedule Management</li><li>Quality ManagementSite Management</li></ul><p><strong>Key Tasks and Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><strong>Safety Management</strong></p><ul><li>Manage, co-ordinate and enforce legal requirements while holding regular safety meetings. To enforce a stop and fix culture on sites related to all non-standard operations or unsafe work conditions. Act as an Ambassador of the Company in all aspects of SHEQ &amp; IR. Respond to recommendations on SHEQ performance within assigned responsibilities and provide mentoring and support to achieve the objectives and targets. Liaise with the Safety Manager/Officer, SHEQ on all aspects of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality matters.</li></ul><p><strong>Construction Management</strong></p><ul><li>Liaise and co-ordinate between the site contractors management teams, the COENG engineers and the clients representative across all disciplines. Direct, guide and coordinate site personnel, to achieve effective construction execution. Develop and implement Construction Execution strategies at the commencement and during the execution phase of the project. Provide Construction planning input during the project execution phase. Report to the Project Manager of any issues arising from co-operation with other areas of Company Operations. Maintain the Companys image to clients, public and other third parties by effective liaison and establishment of harmonious relationships. Prepare appropriate reports and disseminate the report / matters arising throughout Construction Operations as necessary.</li></ul><p><strong>Schedule Management</strong></p><ul><li>Manage the contractors schedules against contractual programs, utilizing Site Supervisors to do daily monitoring. Evaluate regularly the performance of Construction relative to project schedules, budgets and other agreed objectives. Initiate whatever actions / improvements are necessary. Carry out regular reviews of Construction workload, manpower utilization and staffing requirements, to ensure both the adequacy and efficiency of all assigned staff.</li></ul><p><strong>Quality Management</strong></p><ul><li>Manage all site based QCPs through the discipline supervisors utilising COENG standard documents. Set up and implement reviews and audits to provide assurance that all supervised activities are being undertaken in accordance with the appropriate procedures and work practices, and that procedures and work practices are sufficient.</li></ul><p><strong>Site Administration</strong></p><ul><li>Approval of time off and leave. Set targets, objectives and clear responsibilities for all site personnel. Motivate site personnel by agreeing to action plans and obtaining personal commitment from them. Develop and identify requirements for recruitment, induction, training and development of personnel, so that the company procedures, work practices and general operating systems are adequately communicated and understood. Identify new talent and provide mentoring and career development of Construction personnel.</li></ul><p><strong>Legal:</strong></p><ul><li>Implement the requirements of the company's Construction Manual into Construction Operation duties.</li><li>Comply with Company and Client secrecy agreements pertinent to Construction Operations.</li><li>Basic knowledge in construction contracts administration on site such as NEC, FIDIC, GCC, JBCC.</li></ul><p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>SACPCMP registered as the Pr.CM or SACPCMP registered candidate to became Pr.CM.</li><li>National Diploma or equivalent in Construction or Engineering. </li></ul><p><em>Please note that by submitting your personal information to Deka Minas you free-willingly issue the business consent to make use of such data for the specific purpose of securing you either permanent or temporary employment. Minimum Requirements: NQF Level 6 qualification (Construction Management, Engineering, or related) non-negotiable 4 years working experience within the same or similar role Solar / renewable energy experience advantageous but not essential Strong knowledge of turnkey construction environments Solid understanding of site safety regulations and compliance Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders in high-pressure environments Willing and able to work on-site across Gauteng Flexible to travel between sites as required, including involvement in planning and preparation for upcoming projects Key Responsibilities: Manage assigned site(s), typically focused on one project at a time, with the ability to oversee 13 sites depending on project requirements Conduct site visits and assist with planning and preparation for upcoming projects Oversee full on-site execution of commercial solar turnkey projects Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, site teams, and suppliers Ensure projects are delivered according to schedule, budget, and quality standards Enforce health, safety, and environmental compliance on site Liaise with Project Managers, Engineers, Clients, and Consultants Monitor progress, resolve site issues, and report on project milestones Manage site documentation, inspections, snag lists, and final handover Ensure installations comply with contractual, statutory, and technical requirements Please note: That only shortlisted candidates will be contacted
