About the Role

A detail-oriented and experienced Accountant is required to maintain accurate financial records, manage payroll processes, and support day-to-day accounting operations in a fast-paced business environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Reconcile bank statements and company accounts
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory filings
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including salaries, wages, deductions, leave, and employee benefits
  • Maintain accurate payroll and employee records
  • Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, tax regulations, and company policies
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Generate financial and payroll reports as required
  • Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and relevant authorities
  • Support general finance and administrative functions as needed

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an accountant
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles
  • Experience using accounting and payroll software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, VIP Payroll, Pastel Payroll or similar)
  • Solid understanding of payroll legislation, PAYE, UIF, and statutory deductions
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • AAT qualification, bookkeeping certificate, or similar finance qualification preferred
