<p><strong>ENGAGEMENT MANAGER: Transport & Infrastructure Advisory </strong><strong><br /></strong></p><p><strong>Competitive Package on Offer based on Qualification and years of relevant experience</strong></p><p><strong>Our client, a highly reputable global consulting firm shaping the future of transport infrastructure across Africa and beyond, is seeking a solutions-oriented, strategic-thinking Engagement Manager (Transport & Infrastructure Advisory)</strong> who possesses <u>strong financial acumen</u> to join their dynamic team of skilled professionals within their expanding Transport Consulting Practice in the Western Cape.</p><p><strong>You will provide financial analysis and financial modelling </strong>to support the delivery of projects within the Transport Practice, <strong>while leading the project team </strong>and contributing to the overall direction of the projects.</p><p><strong>One would describe you as an entrepreneurial thinker</strong> who can conceptualise complex problems, identify key quantitative variables and their interrelationships, and <strong>accurately translate these into MS Excel or other quantitative software tools</strong>.</p><p>Further to this, you are adaptable to changing needs, and comfortable operating in a complex, fast-paced and sometimes uncertain environment.</p><p><strong>KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><ul><li>Defining client problems concisely, in simple terms, and developing hypotheses to identify solutions, working collaboratively with clients.</li><li>Leading or coordinating finance-related, and general quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify suitable solutions. This includes:</li><li>Quantitative research methodologies, and qualitative research and problem-solving methodologies, including towards the development of business cases, feasibility studies, business plans and strategies.</li><li>Contributing to the development of financial models and conducting evaluations of financial models.</li><li>Performing in-depth financial analysis.</li><li>Reviewing financial data, spreadsheets, budgets and reports, and translating quantitative information into easily communicable findings or implications.</li><li>Conducting in-depth risk analysis</li><li>Financial structuring, developing financing strategies and securing finance.</li><li>Initiating and/or facilitating discussions with clients to elaborate on project solution proposals.</li><li>Leading or coordinating the development of high-quality project deliverables, including slide decks, financial models or financial reports.</li><li>Presenting findings to clients, partners and senior decision-makers in government, development finance and the private sector with a high level of confidence.</li><li>Managing cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams tackling complex business, financial, economic and social challenges for clients.</li><li>Cultivating and managing relationships with clients and stakeholders.</li><li>Managing stakeholders, both in the formal and informal sectors that the Company works with and assisting the clients in doing the same.</li><li>Managing subcontractors, including overseeing the delivery of high-quality deliverables by these parties.</li><li>Developing knowledge products on topics in the sectors that the Company works in.</li><li>Supporting project management and administration, to comply with client or company requirements and standard procedures.</li><li>Making an active contribution to developing new business opportunities, building on current project work and through proposal development.</li><li>Contributing to practice and company-wide strategic initiatives.</li><li>Mentoring and managing junior staff where applicable.</li></ul><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:</strong></p><ul><li>A graduate qualification in <strong>Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Accounting, Actuarial Science</strong> or <strong>Economics.</strong></li><li>Must have a track-record of <strong>academic excellence.</strong></li><li><strong>5 to 7 years’ experience in finance or management consulting / advisory</strong>.</li><li>Exposure to a broad range of <strong>financial analysis and financial modelling-related projects </strong>with a demonstratable track record of high performance in these area is required for e.g. <strong>project or infrastructure finance, financial structuring, public sector financing, investment banking, business planning, project financial modelling and accounting</strong></li><li>Good exposure to <strong>research, analysis, synthesis and problem-solving.</strong></li><li>Must demonstrate <strong>strong numeracy</strong> capabilities, with <strong>excellent Excel abilities</strong>.</li><li>Must be able to <strong>think logically and independently</strong>.</li><li>Must demonstrate or have a track record of <strong>leadership or entrepreneurial aptitude</strong>.</li><li>Must demonstrate track record of <strong>leading teams.</strong></li><li>Must have <strong>interdisciplinary interests and skills</strong>.</li></ul><p><strong>Advantageous:</strong></p><ul><li>A post graduate qualification in Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Accounting, Actuarial Science or Economics.</li><li>Understanding of <strong>annual financial statements and related accounting standards</strong></li></ul><p><strong>KEY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Numerical excellence</strong> and an ability to understand and translate logic into calculation language;</li><li><strong>The ability to work backwards from the client’s output expectations</strong> through the calculation engine to the necessary input drivers thereto;</li><li><strong>Strong work ethic</strong>, self-motivated and demonstrable high standards of achievement;</li><li><strong>Strong interpersonal skills</strong> and ability to work in diverse teams as well as
