This is not a role suited to someone looking to slow down or step back. Our client, a conservation-led safari destination in Mozambique, is seeking a true hospitality operator, someone who comes alive walking into a beautifully run camp, is uncompromising on standards, and thrives on the challenge of building a world-class team from the ground up. The setting is extraordinary and the mission is meaningful, but above all, they need a hands-on hospitality leader with energy, ambition, and a genuine drive to build something exceptional. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will take full operational ownership across accommodation, food and beverage, guest services, safari activities, and maintenance. You will be responsible for implementing robust systems and processes, developing local Mozambican talent, and ensuring every guest experience is seamless and memorable. This is a fast-evolving destination that calls for someone who thinks big, moves with purpose, challenges the norm, and has the appetite to match the scale of the vision ???????????? A genuine passion for hospitality excellence, with a strong focus on service standards and guest experience in high-end environments 810+ years senior operational leadership experience within luxury safari, lodge, or remote hospitality operations Proven ability to implement and maintain structured operational systems and SOPs, with a strong process-driven approach Demonstrated success in building, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams, with a focus on growing local talent Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and forecasting within remote or logistically complex environments Energetic; proactive, and solutions-driven, with the ability to take initiative and drive improvements independently Experience managing multi-department operations and navigating the challenges of remote logistics Open-minded and forward-thinking, with the ability to adapt and contribute to evolving hospitality concepts Physically fit, resilient, and comfortable living and working in a remote wilderness setting Contactable references essential ?????? An extremely remote game reserve in Central Mozambique with 3 permanent lodges, a camp site and an expedition camp (set up from scratch in the season) seeks a highly experienced Tourism General Manager to oversee all day-to-day tourism operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery, operational excellence, and alignment with world class conservation and community values. Only apply if you have ALL the following essential experience:- Relevant Conservation management or Hospitality Management degree or 3 year diploma Minimum of 10 years in a senior management role within the game lodge management and safari tourism industry in Africa Capable Tourism / General Manager who has managed Multi camps under one brand in a Big 5 wilderness area Must have direct experience of managing seasonal safari activities, such as camp construction / deconstruction, vehicle maintenance schedules etc. Experience in implementing safari-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), performance standards and protocols in wilderness locations. Proven track record of 5* game lodge management operations and leadership within a leading safari tourism company. Stable track record Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and resource management.
