About the Role
The Accounting Facilitator will play a crucial role in facilitating learning and teaching activities for undergraduate students, working closely with the academic team to design, review, update, and enhance learning materials. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting active learning, collaboration, and reflective practice, while also providing academic mentorship and guidance to students.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the requisite content knowledge and pedagogical content knowledge in alignment with institutional standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Develop facilitation session plans to facilitate the requisite content knowledge, and interactive learning activities that foster critical thinking and practical application.
- Apply diverse and innovative pedagogical strategies to support active student engagement and learning.
- Promote epistemic justice practices in all learning and teaching activities.
- Provide academic mentorship and guidance to undergraduate students.
- Assess student performance through various assessment activities.
- Monitor student progress and offer timely, constructive feedback.
- Identify and address learning challenges in collaboration with the academic and administrative support teams.
- Collaborate with the academic team to design, review, update, and enhance undergraduate learning materials to ensure consistency in accordance with the accredited module outcomes and NQF levels.
Requirements
- A Teaching qualification (e.g., BEd, PGCE) with a minimum of five years teaching experience in Senior Phase and/or Further Education and Training Teaching Phase.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in teaching or facilitation in Higher Education is essential.
