Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:( not limited to ) Maintain financial records and perform daily bookkeeping tasks. Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations. Prepare and submit SARS tax returns (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax, etc.). Process invoices, payments, and bank reconciliations. Generate financial reports and assist with management accounts. Ensure compliance with tax and accounting regulations. Work hand in hand with Group Financial Accountant & Finance Administrator Desired Experience & Qualification Requirements: Immediate or ASAP availability is preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting. Relevant diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field , or Any relevant bookkeeping certificate is an advantage. Strong knowledge of intercompany transactions and reconciliations. Experience handling SARS-related tasks (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax submissions, etc.). Proficiency in accounting software Sage EvolutionAbility to work independently and meet deadlines.Immediate or ASAP availability preferred.

One of South Africas leading antiques auction houses, is urgently seeking a Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant to join their finance team. This is not your typical corporate number-crunching environment – its a fast-paced, detail-rich world where every transaction ties back to something rare, beautiful, and valuable. From balancing cashbooks to reconciling bank statements, youll keep the financial side of the business running as smoothly as the auction floor. If youre immediately available (or can start within two weeks) and love the idea of blending numbers with nostalgia, this is your chance to be part of something truly unique. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate financial records and perform daily bookkeeping functions Process and reconcile cashbook and petty cash transactions Complete bank reconciliations and ensure all entries are accurate and timely Manage customer-facing finance queries , payments, and auction proceeds Support with group and payroll processes (beneficial but not essential) Prepare reports for management and assist with ad-hoc accounting duties Job Experience and Skills Required Diploma or BCom in Finance / Accounting essential 12 years accounting experience , preferably in a customer-facing or small business environment Proven skills in bookkeeping, cashbook management, and reconciliations Experience with Pastel or Xero advantageous; Excel proficiency essential Detail-oriented, accurate, and comfortable managing multiple moving parts Confident communicator who enjoys engaging with people Exposure to group finance or payroll an added advantage Immediately available or on two-week notice period Apply now – interviews are happening next week. Area : Honeydew Our client is looking for a Bookkeeper to join their organisation. Qualifications and Experience Required: Minimum 3 years experience Proven bookkeeping experience. Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software Proficiency in English and in MS Office Customer service orientation and negotiation skills High degree of accuracy and attention to detail Previous experience with Oficina Management System Responsibilities Establishing different accounts Maintaining records of financial transactions by posting and verifying Defining bookkeeping policies and procedures Developing systems to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts Maintaining subsidiary accounts by posting, verifying and allocating transactions Reconciling entries to balance subsidiary accounts. Maintaining a balanced general ledger Preparing a trial balance for the accountants Preparing financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing accounting for information Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements Monitoring for variances from the projected budget Advising management on compliance needs Assisting in financial activities such as running payroll and generating invoices

Job Description

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to the following: Financial record keeping Record daily financial transactions which shall include but not limited to sales invoices, purchases, receipts, and payments; Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring completeness and accuracy; Process supplier invoices and match them to the delivery notes; Capture and reconcile daily fuel sales, deliveries, and stock movements. Bank and cash management Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations. Accounts payable and receivable Reconcile supplier statements Prepare customer statements Inventory and costing Maintain accurate stock records for bulk fuel; Support in calculating cost of sales and gross profit margins by product. Compliance and reporting Prepare VAT returns, fuel levy submissions, and other statutory requirements; Support external audits by providing schedules and documentation; Assist with monthly management accounts and year-end financial reporting; Ensure proper filing and retention of accounting records. Minimum Qualifications, Experience, and Knowledge: Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent; Minimum 5 years bookkeeping experience, preferably in a fuel trading, logistics, or commodity business; Strong understanding of inventory accounting and cost of sales; Proficiency in accounting software (Sage); Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, reconciliations, and analysis); Strong attention to detail and accuracy; Good understanding of fuel trading workflows; Ability to reconcile complex accounts and large transaction volumes; Strong organizational and time management skills; Integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our Finance team. Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 Suitable Accounting/Finance Diploma or Degree At least 4 years financial experience Payroll experience Duties and Responsibilities: Financial Record Keeping : Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. Invoicing and Billing : Prepare and send invoices to clients, ensure timely payment, and manage billing inquiries. Inventory Management : Track and record inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock counts and managing discrepancies. Compliance and Reporting : Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, prepare financial reports, and assist with audits. Cost Analysis : Monitor and analyze costs associated with fruit exports, including shipping, handling, and storage. Budget Management : Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, providing insights and recommendations for cost-saving measures. Communication : Liaise with suppliers, clients, and logistics companies to ensure smooth financial transactions and resolve any issues. Documentation : Maintain and organize all financial documents related to fruit exports, including contracts, shipping documents, and tax records. Software Proficiency : Utilize accounting software and tools to manage financial data and generate reports.
