About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to provide national commercial support across key customers and principals for a well-established national logistics and supply chain business. The successful candidate will be a commercially astute finance leader who thrives on unlocking margin and driving strategic profitability, with a strong background in pricing strategy, contract management, and profitability analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead annual pricing negotiations and manage pricing models to ensure margin protection and growth
- Review, draft, and manage customer and principal contracts and service level agreements
- Drive profitability analysis and identify margin improvement opportunities
- Manage and enhance the activity-based costing model across the business
- Compile and interpret budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting
- Conduct feasibility assessments and commercial appraisals for new projects
- Lead proposal responses for new business opportunities
- Provide commercial insight to internal stakeholders and external customers
- Deliver Board-level reporting, including performance, market positioning, and growth strategy
Requirements
- CA or CMA qualification
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in commercial costing and people management
- Strong background in pricing strategy, contract management, and profitability analysis
- Advanced financial modelling and Excel capability
- Experience within supply chain, FMCG, or logistics environments is advantageous
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and strategic influencing skills
- Proven ability to operate across multiple stakeholders and business functions
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)
