About the Role
The Foreman will oversee and manage daily workshop operations, ensuring efficient production, high-quality output, and adherence to safety standards in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily workshop activities and staff
- Plan and allocate jobs to ensure deadlines and production targets are met
- Program, set, and optimize CNC machines (Fanuc controls)
- Ensure quality standards and specifications are consistently achieved
- Monitor machine performance and coordinate maintenance requirements
- Enforce health and safety compliance within the workshop
- Train, mentor, and develop workshop staff and apprentices
- Manage tooling, materials, and workflow efficiency
Requirements
- Red Seal qualification in Fitting & Turning or Toolmaking
- Strong experience in CNC machining, including Fanuc CNC programming
- Proven supervisory or management experience in an engineering/workshop environment
- Solid understanding of machining processes, tolerances, and quality control
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
