A boutique Specialist Investment managing firm is looking for an experienced Equity Analyst to join their team at their Johannesburg Offices!

The chosen applicant is crucial to the smooth and successful execution of the investment process. The main duty is to assist the Portfolio Managers by giving them carefully thought-out investment ideas from South Africa and other international markets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce at least six high quality written ideas (3 x SA and 3 x Global) per year.
• Update existing valuation models & Sector reviews.
• Maintain Centralized research database.
• Deliver at least 3 ESG-related engagements per year.
• Report Back on results of companies under coverage after attending management presentations.
• Provide guidance to junior analysts when necessary.

Skills required:

• Advanced Computer literacy MS Office suite
• Excellent Communication skills (Verbal and Written)
• Strong Analytical Ability
• Organized and Excellent planning skills
• Attention to detail.
• Report writing & Verbal reporting skills.

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree in Finance CA(SA) or CFA or Master would be advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years written research experience in an investment bank or asset management firm.
• Self-Motivated team player
• Self-Starter with strong project Management skills
• Entrepreneurial and creative thinker
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines.
