About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Assistant (Intern/Junior) to join our team in Johannesburg. As an intern/junior, you will be responsible for supporting various financial processes and providing administrative assistance to our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture daily financial transactions
  • Maintain accurate financial records
  • Assist with preparing financial reports
  • Support month-end and year-end financial processes
  • Generate invoices for clients
  • Follow up on outstanding payments
  • Record payments received from customers
  • Maintain proper client account records
  • Capture supplier invoices
  • Assist with processing supplier payments
  • Maintain supplier accounts and payment schedules
  • Record daily cash and electronic transactions
  • Reconcile cash, EFT, and card payments
  • Assist with petty cash management
  • Maintain proper filing of financial documents
  • Organize invoices, receipts, and payment records
  • Ensure financial documents are easily accessible for audits

Requirements

  • South African unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34
  • Must not have participated on the YES programme before
  • Matric
  • Completed Diploma in Finance/BCom Accounting degree
  • No prior work experience required
  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work under supervision and meet deadlines
  • Basic computer literacy (Excel, Word, accounting systems advantageous)
