About the Role

The Infrastructure Specialist will be responsible for administering and maintaining the organization’s communication, network, and technology infrastructure, including data backup and restore, network security, and site surveys. This role requires a strong technical background in IT and Information Security, as well as excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage change within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer daily availability and efficiency of communication, network, and technology infrastructure
  • Design, planning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of infrastructure
  • Provide Infrastructure Support through working with end users, liaising with staff on computer operation issues, installing hardware and software products, and performing on-site analysis and diagnosis
  • Manage cloud computing infrastructure, including AWS & Azure
  • Ensure the protection of IT infrastructure through robust cybersecurity measures
  • Administer data security, system backups, and disaster recovery procedures
  • Conduct regular vulnerability scans and disaster recovery simulations
  • Educate management and staff on security risk through continuous reporting and presentations

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • At least 4 years of information security experience
  • At least 4 years of server administration experience
  • At least 4 years of experience with managing cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with standards and best practices such as ISO27001, SIEM, POPIA, GDPR & SOC 2 compliance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of information technology security trends and leading best practices
