About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Sales Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg, where you will leverage your technical expertise to drive business growth and build long-term client relationships in the mining industry. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for managing mechanical engineering projects, providing technical input on aftermarket spares, and delivering tailored proposals to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute mechanical engineering projects related to mining equipment and plant operations
- Engage directly with mining clients to understand operational requirements and challenges
- Provide technical input and support in the specification and supply of aftermarket spares
- Identify opportunities to grow aftermarket and spares sales within existing and new client bases
- Deliver technical presentations and proposals tailored to client needs
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
- Collaborate with internal engineering, production, and service teams to ensure seamless delivery
Requirements
- BEng Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 4 years experience in a project-based engineering environment
- Exposure to mining, mineral processing, or heavy equipment industries
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems and components
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with clients
- Willingness to transition into a client-facing and sales-oriented role
