About the Role
Our client, an international Premium Sports Brand, is seeking a Merchandiser to join their team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the product lifecycle, balancing creative curation with analytical stock control.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the product lifecycle, balancing creative curation with analytical stock control.
- Analyze sales data and trends to forecast demand, negotiate costs with suppliers, manage production timelines, and optimize inventory levels to maximize profitability.
- Research market, fashion, and competitor trends to anticipate what customers will buy (Planning & Analysis).
- Work with buyers and designers to decide which styles, colors, and quantities to produce or purchase (Assortment Planning).
- Monitor sales performance, sell-through rates, and margins to inform future product decisions (Data Analysis).
- Balance stock levels across different stores or channels to avoid overstock or stockouts (Retail & Visual Merchandising Inventory Management).
- Plan how clothes are displayed, organized, and promoted in-store or online to drive conversions (Visual Strategy).
- Coordinate with marketing teams to set price reductions, sales, and seasonal campaigns (Promotional Planning).

- Grade 12
- Valid driver’s license
- Own transport
