Johannesburg: Passenger Vehicle Bookkeeper – Gauteng, Eastern Suburbs

Job Description

Responsibilities: Bookkeeping & Financial Administration Process and maintain accurate accounting records for all dealership transactions Record and reconcile daily cashbooks, bank accounts, and financial transactions Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate allocation of transactions Process journals, accruals, prepayments, and provisions where required Assist with month-end and year-end accounting procedures Account Payable & Receivable Assist with creditor and debtor administration Reconcile supplier and customer accounts Monitor outstanding balances and assist with query resolution Ensure accurate processing of invoices, credit notes, and payments Bank & Cash Reconciliations Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations Reconcile cash receipts, EFT payments, and card transactions Investigate and resolve any discrepancies promptly Vehicle, Parts & Service Accounting Support Assist with vehicle stock reconciliations and financial reporting Support the accounting processes relating to vehicle sales, parts, and service departments Reconcile manufacturer incentives, rebates, and supplier accounts where applicable Financial Reporting Prepare supporting schedules and reports for management accounts Assist with budget monitoring and expense tracking Provide financial information and reports as requested by management Maintain accurate records for audit and compliance purposes Compliance & Internal Controls Ensure compliance with dealership financial policies and procedures Maintain accurate filing and document management systems Support internal and external audit requirements Assist with VAT reconciliations and statutory reporting requirements Stakeholder Support Liaise with internal departments regarding financial queries Support the Dealership Accountant and Financial Manager with ad hoc accounting tasks Maintain professional relationships with suppliers, customers, and service providers Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 (Matric) Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related field in the automotive industry Minimum 35 years’ bookkeeping experience, preferably within the automotive or dealership environment Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software Experience with dealership management systems such as, DMS, Evolve, Drive standard preferably Motor Industry experience Essential Please note only candidates with the required experience will be contacted and considered.
