Job Description

Security Technology Product Installer -POS26184 Based: Weltevredepark Salary: R15 20k per month We are looking for a detail-oriented, hands-on Security Technology Product Installer to join our clients technical operations team. In this role, you will be the face of our company on-site, responsible for the physical installation, configuration, and testing of advanced security systems. The ideal candidate blends technical expertise with a “can-do” attitude, ensuring that every camera, sensor, and access point is installed to the highest standard of quality and safety. Required Skills & Qualifications Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network, manufacturer-specific training like Hikvision, Dahua, or Axis). Prior experience in installing alarm system, gate motors, cameras, telecommunications, electrical work, Technical Proficiency: Proven experience working with low-voltage electronics and power tools (drills, fish tapes, multi meters). Networking Knowledge: Basic understanding of IP addressing, routers, and switches to ensure hardware connectivity. Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot hardware failures or signal issues on the fly in diverse environments. Physical Stamina: Comfortable working on ladders, in cramped spaces (crawls/attics), and lifting equipment up to 50 lbs. Professionalism: Strong communication skills and a clean driving record for traveling to various job sites. Valid drivers licence & clean criminal record Fit & energetic Key Responsibilities Physical Installation: Mount, wire, and install various security hardware, including IP cameras, NVRs/DVRs, electronic door locks, motion sensors, and intercom systems. Infrastructure Setup: Run and terminate low-voltage cabling (Cat5e/Cat6, Coaxial) through conduits, walls, and ceilings according to building codes. System Configuration: Program and initialize security software, ensuring all devices are correctly synced to the network and client interfaces. Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous testing of all components to verify functionality and optimal coverage/angles. Client Training: Provide basic walkthroughs for end-users on how to operate their new hardware and software interfaces. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installation layouts, serial numbers, and site photos for project close-out. How to Apply
