About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior AWS Platform Engineer to own and administer the AWS connectivity and operational foundations supporting Databricks on AWS. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining AWS VPC environments, designing secure private connectivity patterns, and providing production support for platform connectivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain AWS VPC environments including subnets, route tables, security groups, NACLs, NAT/Internet egress patterns, and network segmentation
- Design, implement, and maintain secure private connectivity patterns and VPC endpoints for AWS services such as S3
- Partner with platform and security teams to enable secure and reliable S3 access using IAM roles, policies, and encryption controls
- Provide production support for platform connectivity, including incident management, root cause analysis, and preventative improvements
- Raise, manage, and drive infrastructure and network-related change requests with cloud and enterprise teams
- Maintain operational runbooks, architecture documentation, and network diagrams
- Implement operational improvements to reduce recurring incidents and improve service reliability
Requirements
- Relevant Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cloud Engineering, or related field
- 6 years industry experience in cloud infrastructure, networking, or platform engineering
- Strong hands-on AWS networking experience including VPC design, routing, security groups, NACLs, and network troubleshooting
- Experience operating within regulated enterprise cloud environments with strong governance and security controls
- Strong connectivity troubleshooting capability across cross-region, cross-account, and enterprise network environments
- Experience enabling secure AWS service access patterns, particularly S3 and IAM integrations
Qualifications
- Databricks on AWS experience (advantageous)
- Understanding of Databricks workspace architecture and connectivity models (advantageous)
- Experience with private connectivity and enterprise routing patterns (advantageous)
- Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform / CloudFormation) (advantageous)
- Exposure to cloud security tooling, logging, and monitoring solutions (advantageous)
