About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Service Advisor to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer experiences and driving business growth through effective marketing strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Scheduling of service appointments
- Advising customers about necessary service requirements for routine maintenance
- Obtaining customer and vehicle data prior to arrival when possible
- Greeting customers in a timely, friendly manner and obtaining vehicle information
- Identifying mechanical problems by questioning the customer or doing a visual inspection on the vehicle
- Checking on progress of repairs throughout the day
- Contacting customers regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time as well as explaining costs and time requirements in detail and obtaining proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed
- Converse with customers about inspection results and recommending corrective procedures
- Preparation of work orders for needed repairs showing time, cost and labour estimates for service
- Providing a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labour and parts
- Establishing customer’s method of payment
- Obtaining credit approval, if necessary
- Handling of customer complaints
- Implementing and maintaining a service marketing program
- Reviewing of repair orders to ensure that work is completed, additional work and authorization noted and of repair orders when work is completed
- Ensuring that vehicles are parked in assigned areas
- Making sure they are locked, and all keys are marked and put away correctly
- Keeping service department forms, menus and pricing guides up to date
- Implementing a quality control process to eliminate comebacks
- Maintaining high customer satisfaction standards
- Maintaining a professional appearance
- Keeping work area clean
- Other tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years previous experience in service environment
- Relevant education or training
Qualifications
- Knowledge of BSI Auto is a must
