About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Estimator to join our team in Kempton Park. As a key member of our project cargo estimating department, you will be responsible for compiling accurate estimates across all transport modes and maintaining strong client relationships to encourage repeat business.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile accurate estimates across all transport modes for Sales, Management, Operations, clients, and overseas agents
- Acknowledge all estimation requests within 1 hour of receipt
- Review and validate all information received to ensure accurate costing
- Maintain and update a database of negotiated rates and pricing structures
- Prepare and issue written quotations and ensure proper filing and record keeping
- Apply agreed rates consistently when compiling estimates
- Liaise with the Department Manager for approval prior to submission to clients
- Follow up on submitted estimates to support conversions and client engagement
- Compile reports, statistics, and general administrative documentation as required
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- NQF qualification
- Minimum 5 years experience in Project Cargo estimating
- Solid experience in RoRo, Breakbulk, and Project Cargo within SADC regions
- Intermediate MS Excel skills
- Strong administration skills with excellent attention to detail
- Strong planning and organisational ability
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
